The actor and director Lazaro Ramos, 47, announced that he will be leading a new film, titled “More Than Friends”.
The news was announced at the Berlin Festival, where the Brazilian is in the drama’s promotional campaign “Gugu’s World“, which he directed alongside Allan Deberton.
“More Than Friends” also marks the collaboration with screenwriter Sérgio Machado, who have already worked together on “Madame Satã” and “Cidade Baixa”. The new production is a “road movie” (features in which the protagonists face a journey on the road), which shows a pair of friends facing decisive moments in their lives and careers, and on this trip they came across “political, musical and existential reflections”, as described by Variety magazine.
For the magazine, the director also added that he wanted to make a film “with strong and extreme emotions”. Without giving many details, he revealed that the plot isand will take you on a trip through the Northeast of another eraand “will reveal fundamental elements of our current country, also talking about how art influences life, whether we work with it or not.”
The project marks a new partnership between the actor and Elo Studios, which was responsible for another Lázaro feature, “Executive Order” and Alfie Enoch. Since then, he was also the director of “An Unforgettable Year – Outono”, and the documentary “Bando, Um Filme De”.
