Beneath the sun of the central Sahara lies Jenguebi. In the region in the middle of the barren expanses of the Niger, US paleontologist Daniel Vidal discovered a bone that initially appeared to be a vertebra – until further exposure revealed a curved skull crest. It was an anatomical feature that once adorned the head of a Spinosaurus – the giant, sail-backed theropod that has puzzled science for over a century.
