Indictment against two representatives of the Assad regime in Vienna legally binding

Vienna – The charges against two ex-representatives of the Assad regime are legally binding. As the spokeswoman for the Vienna Higher Regional Court, Susanne Lehr, announced on Tuesday in response to an APA request, the objections of the two defendants were rejected. They are accused of torture and other serious crimes against civilians who were imprisoned in Syria at the time. The first defendant was brought to Austria in 2015 by the domestic Office for the Protection of the Constitution because of a deal with the Mossad.
