Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), ordered the installation of an electronic ankle monitor and search and seizure against yet another suspect in the data leak of Court ministers and their families. The target of the measure has not yet been identified.
The warrant was carried out by the Federal Police in Rio de Janeiro, according to GLOBO. On February 17, when the operation was carried out to determine the participation of four employees in the leaks and what their motivations might have been, a series of precautionary measures had already been determined, including the use of electronic ankle bracelets and seizure of the passports of those being investigated.
The investigation was ordered by Minister Alexandre de Moraes. In January of this year, he ordered the opening of a procedure to determine whether there was a leak of confidential data from Court ministers and their families at the Federal Revenue Service and the Financial Activities Control Council (Coaf).
According to the STF, “several and multiple illicit accesses to the tax system” were found, with “subsequent leakage of confidential information”.
The four suspects initially affected by the operation are employees assigned to the IRS, one of which was provided by Serpro, a public company that provides digital solutions for the federal government. They were removed from their positions.
The opening of the investigation took place amid the developments in a report that mentions Banco Master’s contract with the office of Moraes’ wife, Viviane Barci. In December, Malu Gaspar’s column revealed that, over three years, the contract would total R$131.3 million.
