Government announces resources for SUS to combat cancer – 02/26/2026 – Panel

in partnership with Embrapii (Brazilian Industrial Research and Innovation Company), launches this Thursday (26), a set of projects for the SUS to combat , and multiple sclerosis.

There will be R$90 million to expand access to advanced therapies and diagnostics and produce strategic medicines. R$73 million will come from the ministry and Embrapii and another R$17 million in return from seven companies.

Among the projects, in vivo engineering of CAR-T lymphocytes for the treatment of cancer, a platform for monitoring diabetic patients with photonic, electrical and artificial intelligence techniques and the development of a biopharmaceutical for the treatment of Multiple Sclerosis.

The Minister of S, (PT), says that the objective is to reduce dependence on imported solutions. “We are expanding the national capacity to develop technologies for the treatment of various diseases, reducing external dependence in the production of highly complex medicines and guaranteeing greater access to the population through the SUS”, he stated.
