Women’s football: Brazil thrashes Costa Rica in friendly

In the dispute, on national territory, Brazil opened the first FIFA Date of the season by beating Costa Rica, 5-2, at the Alejandro Morera Soto stadium, in Alajuela, Costa Rica, on Friday night (27).

Overpowering in the first half, they took a 3-0 lead before the break. Kerolin, after ten minutes, scored a brilliant goal. Jheniffer, at 13, expanded after receiving from Tainá Maranhão, who, at 27, finished low to secure the victory.

The Brazilians returned without the same intensity for the final stage and had a scare. Chinchilla, at six and 21 minutes, took advantage of two mistakes from young goalkeeper Thaís, aged 17, and made up the difference. The reaction, however, stopped there: Adriana, at 34, with a penalty; and Jheniffer, at 46, receiving the ball in the small area, closed the score.

There are still two more friendlies in the coming days: on Wednesday (4), a duel against Venezuela, at the Mexican Football Federation Training Center, in Toluca, Mexico, at 6pm, and closing the FIFA Data against Mexico, on Saturday (7), at the Ciudad de los Deportes stadium, in Mexico City, at 8pm.
