Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arakhchi sharply criticized US President Donald Trump on Wednesday for his decision to prioritize a military offensive over a diplomatic solution.
US President Donald Trump betrayed diplomacy and the Americans who elected him. On Wednesday, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arakchi wrote this on the X social network, writes TASR.
“When complex nuclear negotiations are treated like selling real estate and when big lies overshadow reality, unrealistic expectations can never be fulfilled,” the Iranian minister wrote. “The result? Bombing the negotiating table out of malice. Mr. Trump has betrayed diplomacy and the American people who elected him,” he added.
After months of escalating tensions between Israel and Iran and several rounds of negotiations, the United States and Israel launched coordinated air and missile strikes on Iranian military and strategic targets on Saturday. Iran responded with massive retaliatory missile and drone attacks on targets in Israel and on US bases in the Middle East.
