Upon receiving a visit from the consul in São Paulo, Martina Hackelberg, at Alesp (Legislative Assembly of São Paulo) this Tuesday (3), state deputy Paulo Fiorilo (PT) formalized the creation of a group of parliamentarians interested in seeking partnerships with the consulate of the European country.
Members of the so-called Brazil and Germany Friendship Group, the deputies should begin their work with visits to Volkswagen’s facilities in São Paulo and propose cultural actions in conjunction with the German consulate.
Hackelber welcomed the initiative and stated that São Paulo is the largest German industrial hub outside the country of origin, generating 250 thousand direct jobs in the state.
“We took an important step to strengthen ties with Germany, the friendship group will create a fertile environment with the Consulate to offer concrete initiatives to the State of São Paulo”, says Fiorilo.
