The deadline in Kosovo for a new head of state to be elected in parliament expired on Thursday. The vote could not take place because only one candidate from the ruling party Vetëvendosje (VV), namely Foreign Minister Glauk Konjufca, stood for election and received the necessary 30 signatures of support. According to the constitution, at least two candidates are required for an election.
