Teresa Guilherme launches 'barb' about current reality shows: “It's all a copy, for the worse…”

Teresa Guilherme was on the ‘Cala-te Boca’ podcast, talking to radio presenters Matilde Prata and Zé Vida and was challenged to answer several questions.

Since she was the pioneer of reality shows in Portugal and that, with her departure from TVI, these were left to other presenters, namely Cláudio Ramos and Cristina Ferreira, the actress also revealed that, nowadays, she no longer follows this type of format.

“No. In fact, I became disinterested from the moment I wasn’t the one presenting. When I was the one presenting, I had to see, and I wanted to see and know everything, what was going on (…) so, it was hours. My life when a reality show I was stuck there 24 hours a day, it was crazy, and then when I presented the last one, I lost interest.”he started by admitting it.

Teresa Guilherme ended up criticizing the way this type of program is done nowadays: “And it seems to me that there is very little new, isn’t it? They are always copying. When they say: “there will be surprises”, it immediately makes me want to laugh, I’m going to see what they are going to copy from when I was doing it, which is what happens, isn’t it? (…). It’s all a copy, for the worse. Because the ‘House of Secrets’ should have many surprises…”.

Faced with the possibility of “changing the rules” of reality shows of current affairs, Teresa Guilherme reported: “I never thought much about it, but I could take the ‘House of Secrets’ and make it a fun thing again, which it was, remember how it was fun, amusing, controversial and had all the aspects it no longer had. This could be livened up again with some imagination, with work and with a different aspect than it is, which is just controversy and confrontation, which is what they like, confrontation”realized.
