German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius warns against neglecting Ukraine for the war in the Middle East. He requests the continuation of the supply of air defense systems.
German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius warned on Friday that despite the conflict in the Middle East, Ukraine’s needs for air defense supplies should not be neglected. TASR informs about it according to a Reuters report.
“Everyone knows that air defense and air defense missiles are a rare commodity globally. The ongoing war in the Middle East must not distract from the war in Europe, the war (which Russia is waging) against Ukraine,” Pistorius told reporters in Berlin. “We must continue to do everything in our power to support Ukraine, while we will not leave the countries of the Persian Gulf and maybe help them here and there with equipment or logistics,” explained the head of the department.
Conflict in the Middle East
Pistorius said on Wednesday that “American and Israeli friends” need to be repeatedly reminded that military force alone will not resolve conflicts. “History teaches us that it is much easier to start a war than to end it. This means that you have to have a solid strategy to end the war. I don’t see one at the moment,” said the German minister.
The US and Israel say they attacked Iran “preemptively” to prevent the regime there from acquiring a nuclear weapon. However, Tehran repeatedly rejects such an effort and in response undertakes retaliatory attacks on Israel and other states in the Middle East.
