American influencer Gwen McMullen is experiencing huge popularity in our region. And how is that possible? Photos of her began to appear in the Slovak internet space with the comment that she strikingly resembles Prime Minister Robert Fico. Although Gwen wasn’t happy about the comparison at first, she quickly realized that she could use it.
The influencer adapted her content to a new wave of fans from Slovakia and the Czech Republic. When we are on the portal at the end of February, they wrote about Gwen for the first time, she had 182,000 followers on the Instagram social network. Less than two weeks later, this number grew to an incredible 221,000 followers.
Slovaks quickly fell in love with the American. After finding out the real reason why many of our compatriots started visiting her profile, and changed the profile description to “Queen of Slovakia” (Queen of Slovakia) and this content has been maintained since February 23. Gwen even spoke to her new fans on the social network from the plane and announced that she was heading to Slovakia. “I am honored to be your new queen. See you soon” she said.
Fans began to debate whether he would meet Robert Fico in person. The influencer clearly responded to this question. “Me and the Prime Minister will never take a picture together,” she declared.
Gwen parodied a famous scene from the series Hannah Montana, which revolved around the dual identity of the main character played by Miley Cyrus. She played the ordinary teenager Miley Stewart, who also secretly became the pop star Hannah Montana. The entire series was based on the fact that Hannah and Miley are two different people, although in reality they are the same character. Gwen used to joke about herself that she and Robert Fico are one person.
More and more comments from well-known personalities from Slovakia appear under her posts. And it’s not just ordinary influencers or celebrities. Politicians are also speaking out. Under the video in which she parodies the Hannah Montana series, the unsuccessful presidential candidate Ivan Korčok also wrote her a message. “He prefers photos (Fico, editor’s note) especially with dictators, not queens like you,” he wrote sharp words.
His comment apparently outraged some of his constituents. On the social network, one of the followers told him that after he recognized Gwen as the queen of Slovakia, he would no longer vote for him. “I’m really sorry that we’re losing this one voter, but on the other hand, I think that Gwen makes Slovakia a better name around the world than Robert Fico.” he declared in the video that you can find above the article.
Korčok’s statement also reached Gwen, who shared it with her followers on the social network. “What timeline have we actually gotten into!?” the influencer, who tries to write most of her posts in Slovak, couldn’t believe her eyes. PHOTO can be found in the gallery.
