The governor of Paraná, Ratinho Junior (PSD), stated this Friday (6) that the PSD will enter the presidential contest with three names under internal evaluation. According to him, in addition to his own pre-candidacy, the party is also discussing the names of governors Eduardo Leite (Rio Grande do Sul) and Ronaldo Caiado (Goiás).
The statement was made during a press conference in Guaratuba, on the coast of Paraná, shortly after the acronym.
“I think the three PSD names are pre-candidates. Now, the party will work to choose the one who can represent these three and this project for Brazil”, stated Ratinho Jr.
The choice of the party’s presidential candidate will be up to the national president of the PSD, Gilberto Kassab. The acronym tries to build a competitive project that presents itself as an alternative to the political polarization between the main names that currently lead the polls.
Ratinho Jr. said he maintains a good relationship with the other two governors and stated that the group intends to act together, regardless of who is chosen to run for President.
“I really like Eduardo, I really like Caiado and we are committed to working together, regardless of who it is”, he declared.

According to the governor of Paraná, the country needs to reduce political tensions and seek greater convergence between different sectors of society. “We have this notion that Brazil needs peace and unity above all else,” he stated.
PSD national project
Ratinho Jr. also said he was willing to participate in the party’s national project even if he is not the candidate chosen for the presidential race.
“I am very excited to be part of a project that can present a new Brazil to Brazilians, that can turn the page,” he stated.
The governor added that he believes it is possible to build a program capable of boosting the country’s economic development. “A powerful Brazil, as giant as nature itself,” he said.
Joint agenda
Despite the internal dispute, the three governors are expected to participate in joint agendas in the coming days. Ratinho Jr., Leite and Caiado will be in São Paulo this Friday (6), Saturday (7) and also on Monday (9) to follow events involving state deputies joining the PSD.
The meetings are part of the party’s strategy to expand its political base and strengthen the structure of the party before deciding who will represent the PSD in the presidential election.
