The Slovaks were waiting! After several warm days, something more awaits our area – the first truly spring weekend, when temperatures can rise to +18 °C, informs the portal. Unusually warm weather is coming to Slovakia for this time of year. The good news is that it will continue!
“Saturday will start after the morning mists and low cloud cover disappear, with mostly clear to semi-clear skies, while daytime temperatures will rise to a very pleasant +12 to +17 °C, while in the south and west of the country, with longer sunshine, occasional attack the border of +18 °C, which are values typical for April,” reports the specialized portal.
It will be the same on Sunday, when high pressure will continue to affect Slovakia, so we are expecting pleasant weather with temperatures up to +17 °C, in the southwest even more. At the same time, it is valid for the weekend that we will enjoy the sky without precipitation and the absence of stronger wind. Meteorologists recommend using this first and truly spring weekend for outdoor activities. The joy can only be disturbed by the fine Saharan dust higher in the atmosphere, which causes “cloudiness” of the sky.
Even after the weekend, we don’t have to worry about a sharp drop in temperatures. They will continue to be above average, according to the website iMeteo.sk 4 to 8 °C above average. Although spring has arrived too early from a meteorological point of view, Friday 20 March 2026 is the official start of spring and the equinox, nature is already making its mark. According to ornithologists, the first stork of this spring has already arrived on our territory, and their influx is expected to intensify.
