UEFA fines Real Madrid after fan’s Nazi salute – 03/06/2026 – Sport

UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) announced this Friday (6) that it had imposed a fine of 15,000 euros (R$91,100) on Real Madrid after a club fan gave a Nazi salute before the second leg of the Champions League playoff against Benfica last week.

UEFA also sentenced Real Madrid to the partial closure of a 500-seat stand at the Santiago Bernabéu, although this sanction will be suspended if similar events do not occur again.

The Madrid club announced after the match the expulsion of the fan who was caught on television cameras giving a Nazi salute in the stands.

The first game against the Lisbon team had already been marred by an incident involving Brazilian striker Vinicius Junior, who accused Argentine Gianluca Prestianni of calling him a “monkey”, something the latter denies.

UEFA has provisionally suspended Prestianni while it carries out an investigation.
