Voters who need to obtain their title for the first time or settle pending issues with the Electoral Court have up to May 6 to resolve the situation. The deadline is necessary to guarantee participation in the 2026 elections.
Voter registration is mandatory for Brazilians over 18 years of age. For young people aged 16 and 17 and for people over 70, voting and title are optional.
In this election, biometric registration will be a requirement for any procedure, such as issuing the first title, transferring residence or updating data. Without registered biometrics, the order is not completed.

Those who already have a title, but have not yet registered their fingerprints, must start the service by the beginning of April through the Electoral Self-Service system, available on the websites of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) and the Regional Electoral Courts (TREs).
Even with the request initiated online, it is mandatory to appear in person at an electoral office to collect fingerprints, photography and signature. This final step also needs to be completed by May 6th.

Without regularization within the deadline, the voter will be prevented from voting in 2026 and may face administrative restrictions, such as difficulties in issuing a passport or assuming public office.
