European solutions at the airport of the future: laser tracking and autonomous taxis

An airport is a complex matter. Thousands of people with hundreds of tasks work together to ensure that tens of thousands of passengers can arrive and depart safely and as punctually as possible. Gate occupancies have to be allocated, aircraft have to be maintained and luggage has to be routed to the right conveyor belt or connecting flight. A particular challenge is, of course, managing the crowds of people moving through the halls and corridors, especially during typical travel times.
