Gathered in a debate on Friday night (6), the pre-candidates for the Presidency avoided taking a position on the conditions for the minister of the (Supreme Federal Court) to remain in office in light of the news about the exchanges of messages between him and banker Daniel Vorcaro, from Banco Master.
., from Paraná, , from Goiás, and , from Rio Grande do Sul, spoke to journalists alongside the party president, , after an event promoted by the party to publicize the pre-candidacy of the three, in a room at the Monte Libano club, in the south zone of the capital.
During the press conference, the three had been asked about the possible impacts that the Master case could have on this year’s electoral process. Caiado anticipated his colleagues and replied that, when the debates began, there would be people involved in “Master, INSS, Hidden Carbon”.
“I want to know who will get there [na eleição] to support the debate.”
Then, the group was asked if they thought the minister was able to remain in court in light of the messages. Moraes denies that the messages found on his cell phone were sent to him.
Ratinho responded by defending investigations. “The Master case is a police case. The investigation will tell which actors are involved and what problems these actors were involved in.”
Caiado chose to respond by saying that, if he is president, he will know how to act. “You don’t do politics by simply naming, you do politics by acting so that institutions regain their credibility conditions.”
In Kassab’s turn, however, the PSD president chose to end the interview. “Thanks, guys,” he said, waving his hands at reporters. Eduardo Leite did not have the opportunity to respond.
Of the three pre-candidates, Ratinho Jr. and Caiado were already present at demonstrations against the process and the arrest of (PL) on Avenida Paulista last year. The governor of Goiás also attended the protest on Sunday (1st), called by federal deputy Nikolas Ferreira (PL-MG), who had (PL) as the main speaker.
At this Friday’s event, the party president maintained that the PSD will maintain the project of launching one of the three as a candidate for President until the end, but said that the nomination of the name will be by consensus between them and that those who are rejected must remain in the party until the electoral contest.
Kassab is secretary of the Government of Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans) in São Paulo. In addition to seeking re-election, Tarcísio will be coordinator, in the state, of Flávio Bolsonaro’s presidential campaign.
Tarcísio’s vice-governor, Felício Ramuth (PSD), a Kassab supporter, did not attend the party event, which brought together around 2,000 people, according to the organization.
