The influencer Carolina Portaluppi, 31, recently used social media to say that he was a victim of the so-called “chocolate scam”.
On Instagram, she narrated that she received a link from a famous chocolate company’s website saying that she would win a chocolate prize if she shared the post.
“Guys, I just fell for a scam. Incredible. I fell for a scam and I’m making a lot of people fall for a scam on WhatsApp as well”, he said.

The scheme consisted of sharing the link with dozens of people in order to receive a reward.
“I received the link saying that I would win R$1,000.00 in chocolate. And I would have to send this link to 20 people to win […] so I sent it,” he said.
The scam is known as phishingwhich simulates the page of a real company, with colors, logo and letters and can collect the victim’s personal information – directing them to unauthorized registrations.
