German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said this Tuesday (10) that he shares many of the objectives of the joint US and Israeli campaign against Iran, but that “with each day of war, more doubts arise”.
“Above all, we are concerned about the apparent absence of a joint plan on how this war can be ended quickly and convincingly,” he said, while emphasizing that Germany and Europe have no interest in an “endless war” or the disintegration of Iran’s territorial integrity.
On the other hand, Merz stressed that he shares US President Donald Trump’s “hope” that the war will end quickly. He stated that if this happens, oil and energy markets should return to normality soon and therefore there is no reason to consider easing sanctions against Russia. Source: Associated Press.
