Many allergy sufferers are suffering particularly badly due to the abrupt start. “The stress caused by the early bloomers will probably continue in the lowlands and valleys until the end of March, but will become significantly less intense in the coming week,” said Lukas Dirr from the Austrian Pollen Information Service (ÖPID) in Vienna on Tuesday.
