PT deputies cite Marina Silva and Márcio França as possibilities; Simone Tebet gains strength to run for the Senate
Workers’ Party seeks name for Fernando Haddad’s vice position in the dispute for Palácio dos Bandeirantes that dialogues with sectors traditionally more distant from the acronym. In conversation with the column, deputy Kiko Celeguim (PT), state president of the party in São Paulo and coordinator of the campaign, stated that A name from the center “would be very welcome” to join the list.
The topic gained ground after the Finance Minister announced that he will leave the government next week. According to PT sources interviewed by the report, the chosen person does not necessarily need to be seen as completely centrist, but rather have the capacity to dialogue with productive sectors and the market. “There needs to be dialogue with the segments most refractory to the PT”, summarized one interlocutor.
Ministers from the Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva government remain among those listed. Names like Marina Silva and Márcio França, for example, are not discarded. Despite the direct connection with the PT’s political field, both are seen as figures with greater capacity to move between voters and sectors more resistant to the party. Organizers highlight, however, that France would need to accept a kind of “demotion” in this scenario, since until now it had been treated as a possible pre-candidate at the top of the ticket.
Simone Tebet’s name has been mentioned less. This is because the internal assessment is that his candidacy for the Senate for São Paulo is practically certain.
As the report anticipated, the caption hopes that, after a few days of rest. The minister has not yet publicly admitted that he will run for state government, but internally the candidacy is already treated as defined.
In addition to Celeguim, the PT has already defined other names for the campaign. Publicist Otávio Antunes will be the marketer and will work alongside deputy Jilmar Tatto, who will be responsible for coordinating communication.
