A 48-year-old woman has been arrested after setting fire to her husband, a 49-year-old man, in the Valencian town of Chiva, as sources from the Civil Guard have informed EFE. The events occurred on Thursday night at the family home and, according to reports, the victim was taken to the health center in a police vehicle and then admitted in a very serious condition to the Burns Unit of the Le Fe Hospital in Valencia.
According to this newspaper, the woman sprayed her partner while he was sleeping with the flammable liquid that they used in the house to light the stove, and the victim went out through one of the windows of the house to ask for help. The couple’s 16-year-old daughter was in the house when the attack occurred. The woman has declared that she was a victim of sexist violence.
