Iran warns that an attack on its energy infrastructure will set fire to oil and gas throughout the region. Tensions in the Middle East are driving up oil prices even more.
Iran threatened on Thursday to set fire to all oil and gas in the Middle East if the United States or Israel attacked its energy infrastructure. TASR informs about it according to the report of the AFP agency.
“At the slightest attack on Iran’s energy infrastructure and ports, we will set fire to oil and gas in the region,” declared the spokesman for the Central Command of the Iranian Armed Forces, also known as Khatam al-Anbiya.
Oil prices and traffic restrictions
Oil prices rose sharply after the start of the conflict. Its producers in the Middle East are limiting production, as tanker traffic in the Strait of Hormuz is practically stopped.
American President Donald Trump declared on Thursday that the United States benefits the most from rising oil prices. “The United States is by far the largest producer of oil in the world, so when oil prices go up, we make a lot of money,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
