The Secret Agent competes in 4 categories; ceremony starts at 8pm, and will have special coverage from Jovem Pan
The ceremony of Oscar 2026 takes place this Sunday (15), in Los Angeles, and should mobilize moviegoers across Brazil. In World Cup final atmospherebars, restaurants, cinemas and film clubs organize special sessions to follow the biggest world cinema awards live, which starts at 8pm (Brasília time).
In Brazil, the public will be able to watch the entire ceremony on the TNT channel and Max streaming. You can also follow the special coverage of Jovem Pan on television and on YouTube (link below), from 8pm.
In addition to the official broadcasts, cinemas, bars and cultural spaces in several cities across the country also organize screenings on big screens, transforming Oscar night into a huge gathering of film fans.
In addition to the dispute between major international productions, the This year’s edition arrives with a strong Brazilian presencewith the film The Secret Agent, directed by Kleber Mendonça Filho and starring Wagner Moura.
The expectation is to repeat the atmosphere that took over the country last year, when the victory of I’m Still Here as Best International Film led the public to follow the ceremony as a major national event.
The national political thriller is set in Recife in the 1970s and competes in four categories:
- Best Film;
- Best International Film;
- Best Actor, for Wagner Moura; and
- Best Cast Direction
In addition to the indications, Wagner Moura was also confirmed as participating in the delivery of one of the statuettes during the night.
The nomination for the Best Actor award also marks a historic moment: Wagner Moura became the first Brazilian nominated in the main category male acting.
The actor Brazilian competes in the category with big-name actors such as: Timothée Chalamet (in Marty Supreme), Leonardo DiCaprio (in One Battle After Another), Michael B. Jordan (in Sinners) and Ethan Hawke (Blue Moon).

Although the Academy does not officially release the complete sequence of the awards before the ceremony, it tends to follow a similar order every year, starting with the supporting and short acting categories and moving on to the technical and main awards.
The traditional sequence follows the following order: Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Animated Short Film, Best Live Action Short Film, Best Documentary, Best International Film, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Casting Direction, Best Soundtrack, Best Original Song, Best Production Design, Best Costume, Best Makeup and Hair, Best Visual Effects, Best Sound, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Original Screenplay, Best Director, Best Actress, Best Actor and, finally, Best Film, which closes the ceremony.
