Krems – After the suicide of an inmate at the Stein prison on Friday night, prison guards were temporarily suspended on Monday. The Ministry of Justice informed the APA that there is suspicion of serious breaches of duty and criminal offenses. Among other things, staff are said to have failed to comply with their prescribed duties to inspect the detention rooms. A statement of the facts was sent to the Krems public prosecutor’s office.
