Consumer Day, celebrated this Sunday (15), boosted Brazilian commerce and increased sales of products and services by 6.4% last weekend, according to a survey by Itaú Unibanco.
Among the sectors that benefited most from the date are car rentalwhich recorded growth of 26.9%followed by department and variety storescom high of 24.6%.
Other segments also showed growth in sales, such as medicines and travel agencies each increasing by 8.7%. Pet food and article stores grew 8.5%, while the supermarket sector recorded an expansion of 6.6% in the period analyzed.
The data considers transactions carried out through bank acquiring, including payments with debit and credit cards on machines, in addition to Pix via QR Code and transfers, in purchases made by individuals for companies.
The survey brings together operations carried out in both e-commerce and physical stores and compares performance with the same period last year.
