Motta says he won’t have a ‘hasty’ discussion about 6×1 scale

O President of the Chamber of Deputies, Hugo Motta (Republicans-PB), toconfirmed that he will not have a “hasty” discussion on the end of the 6×1 scale and said that processing through a proposed amendment to the Constitution (PEC) will force those interested in the matter to seek convergence.

The statements took place this Tuesday (17), during lunch held by the Parliamentary Entrepreneurship Front (FPE)in Brasilia. THE FPE is chaired by deputy Joaquim Passarinho (PL-PA) and has the participation of 205 deputies and 46 senators.

“Even though we are in an election year, we are not going to conduct this debate in a haphazard way, in a non-committal way, without measuring the consequences. Because this should even worry the government itself. Why? “Because a negative effect on the economy is bad for everyone”, he said.

Motta also said that economic sectors must report the practical impacts of the end of the 6×1 scale in the economy and highlighted that processing through PEC allows time for this. THE mayor said that there is, yes, a way to move forward in the discussion.

“Every sector represented here must, firstly, no matter how complex the topic, feel satisfied with the format given by the President of the Chamber for the discussion of this matter”, declared Motta. “This forces all interested parties to have the ability to find greater convergence,” he stated.

Afterwards, the President of the Chamber recalled that the government wanted submit a bill under constitutional urgency on the topic to the National Congress. He said he noticed that the government no longer intends to forward the proposal in this format.

“Everyone knows that, if it had depended on the will of the government and some parties legitimately represented in the house, the legislative path would not have been to propose an amendment to the Constitution,” he said.

Urgent request

O Minister of the General Secretariat of the Presidency, Guilherme Boulos, these this Tuesday that the government of the president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) will present a bill com emergency regime about the end of the 6×1 scale if there is a “winding strategy” of Congress on the topic.

Lula has already made a decision. We are respecting the Legislative process, as it should be. But if March ends and we realize that there is a strategy of stalling in Congress, Lula will introduce a bill as a matter of urgency and then you will have to vote in 45 days”, stated the minister.

To be government project, he said, will reduce working hours from 44 to 40 hours per week. It will also end the 6×1 working day and establish a 5×2 regime. All this without a salary reduction.
