Despite the PL chief’s preference for Senator Tereza Cristina (MS) as vice-president, the PP, her party, puts the brakes on the articulation.
The nomination still depends on a series of factors, the main one being the decision to form a coalition with the senator.
The decision will be taken in the coming months and will take two points into account: an assessment of the impact of the formal alliance on the electoral prospects of the PP, which has a strong Lulist wing in the Northeast; and stronger demonstrations that Flávio will not have a speech just for the Bolsonarist bubble and will accept making gestures to the center.
If the option is to support Flávio, however, the senator’s name has practically no opponents for vice within the PP.
