The former president continues to be treated for bilateral bacterial pneumonia resulting from bronchopneumonia
O former president Jair Bolsonaro presented good clinical evolution in the last 24 hours, informed the DF Star hospital in a medical bulletin released this Thursday (19).
O reserve captain remains in treatment against bilateral bacterial pneumonia resulting from bronchopneumonia. Yet there is no forecast for discharge from the ICU at this time.
The former president was hospitalized with bronchopneumonia, and continues to be treated for bilateral bacterial pneumonia, resulting from the episode.
A note released by the hospital also says that motor and respiratory physiotherapy continueswith intensive clinical support and treatment with intravenous antibiotic therapy, that is, he is receiving the medications directly into the vein.
Bronchopneumonia
Bronchopneumonia is a infection that spreads to various parts of the lungsreaching the small structures through which air passes (bronchioles and alveoli).
Most of the time, the disease is caused by bacteria invasion, virus or fungi. However, a warning signal goes to the gripes, colds e other poorly treated respiratory diseases. When the simplest infections are not taken care of correctly, they can worsen and become bronchopneumonia.
Main symptoms

- Chest pain when coughing or taking a deep breath;
- Shortness of breath, difficulty breathing or wheezing;
- Very strong tiredness, weakness and body pain;
- General malaise, lack of appetite, headache and dizziness;
- In older people, the disease can manifest itself differently, causing mental confusion or delusions.
