Former star of famous British reality shows Jordan Wright († 33) died tragically. His body was discovered on the holiday island of Phuket in Thailand on Saturday. While loved ones and colleagues from the television industry are flooding social networks with touching messages, Thai police are investigating the mysterious circumstances of his death, reports .
Wright was found by a Burmese laborer in a drainage ditch near Bang Tao Beach at approximately 12:30 p.m. local time. Police called to the scene found no signs of a physical attack or struggle. On the shore his mobile phone was left near the body, while the deceased was not wearing shoes. An access card from the hotel was found in his pocket, which helped the investigators with a quick identification.
After reviewing the hotel’s security cameras, police discovered that the man had been acting extremely restless prior to his disappearance. Footage captured him pacing in a daze outside the hotel building before leaving the area. Staff confirmed he had checked in alone and was due to leave the hotel on March 13 – exactly the day before his body was found. The exact cause of death, as well as whether drugs or alcohol played a role, will be determined only by an ongoing autopsy.
Wright made a name for himself in the minds of the audience in 2017 by appearing in the show Ex On The Beach. He subsequently became a fan favorite in the 22nd and 23rd seasons of the hit show The Only Way Is Essex, where he took care of the first ever televised fight with the ex-boyfriend of his then-partner Courtney Green.
However, the world of show business stopped fulfilling him over time. He retired from public life in 2023, admitting he felt “hugely unfulfilled”. He therefore returned to his original profession and started working as a firefighter again. Just a few weeks ago, he made another radical decision and moved to Thailand, where he said he was looking for a “fresh start”.
