He is probably the most famous graphic designer in Austria, but who has an impact far beyond the boundaries of the profession: Stefan Sagmeister. The 63-year-old from Bregenz, who has lived in New York since 1993 and has been running the agency “Sagmeister & Walsh” with Jessica Walsh since 2012, has now received the Golden Medal of Merit from the State of Vienna for his actions. “His work leaves traces and inspiration in our city,” said City Councilor for Culture Veronica Kaup-Hasler (SPÖ), paying respect to the honoree.
