MotoGP faces another problem this Saturday (21) at the Ayrton Senna racetrack, with activities on the track halted after a hole appeared on the main straight.
The problem arose as a result of the heavy rain that fell in Goiânia since the beginning of the week. On Friday (20), there were also delays in the track schedule after parts of the circuit were flooded. The drainage and drainage system worked, but the repair delayed one of the training sessions by an hour.
This Saturday, despite the rain having stopped, the asphalt felt the pressure of the last few days.
“Due to heavy rain in recent days, there was a depression on the surface of the track caused by ground movement. It is outside the ideal route and we are already repairing the problem. If everything goes well, we should be able to hold the MotoGP Sprint today”, explained the person responsible for MotoGP safety, Tome Alfonso.
The Moto2 and Moto3 qualifying sessions have been postponed indefinitely, and a new update is scheduled for 2pm (Brasília time).
At 3pm, the MotoGP sprint race is scheduled.
“Due to the time required to complete these repairs, when track activity resumes, the next live session will be the Tissot MotoGP Sprint,” event organizers said.
