The decided to launch former government advisor Raul Christiano, one of the founders of the party, as a candidate for federal deputy for São Paulo, focusing on votes from Baixada Santista.
The party tries to regain political protagonism and avoid the , when it elected only two mayors in the first round — Santo André (SP) and Caruaru (PE). Last month, the party lost São Paulo to the PSDB in one fell swoop.
“Let’s go together on this journey, which will be victorious, of reconstruction and of restoring the legacy that the PSDB brought to our country and to the Brazilian people”, said Christiano upon having his name confirmed by the national president of the party, and by the state president, Paulinho Serra.
“Raul’s story is intertwined with the history of the PSDB and with Brazil’s own recent history. He is a leader with solid values, experience and commitment to good politics”, stated Aécio, highlighting the work of the former advisor to the FHC government.
