Mainz (Rhineland-Palatinate) – The CDU Rhineland-Palatinate invited the SPD to exploratory talks two days after the state elections in the German state. The aim is to prepare coalition negotiations. This was announced by a CDU spokeswoman. The talks are scheduled to begin on Thursday afternoon under the leadership of the voted-out Prime Minister Alexander Schweitzer from the SPD and his expected successor Gordon Schnieder from the CDU.
