Amazon centers have already been attacked. Google and Nvidia under threat. It’s the risk of having infrastructure like that in that area.
O Iran there’s one more target: technology. Hubs of large technology companies in the Middle East. It’s a way to launch the chaos, resume o.
Iran’s attacks and threats against technological infrastructures in that region are exposing a growing vulnerability of large cloud computing platforms and digital supply chains.
Targets: facilities and offices Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Nvidia, Oracle, IBM e Palantirconsidered by Tehran to be part of an “enemy technological infrastructure” – as it has links to artificial intelligence projects, cloud and support for Israeli and US military or government entities.
The Iranian agency Tasnim, close to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, released a list of around 30 technological sites in the region that could be targeted, including assets in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Tel Aviv.
The justification: several of these companies ensure central services computing, data storage and development of AI systems.
O The most sensitive case is data centersas its destruction or interruption can propagate disturbances far beyond the conflict zonehighlights the .
In fact, in the first days of the new escalation of the war, three Amazon data centers – in the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain – were attacked by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.
These attacks affected services cloud and business and financial applications; and remembered the risk of having large computing infrastructures in the region, which can quickly transform into military and strategic targets.
At the same time, cybersecurity experts warn of a parallel worsening of the digital front.
In , ESET (antivirus and cybersecurity solutions company) reminds us that cyber attacks can get worse. And the Iran-aligned groups are some of the most active and sophisticated globally: mix visible attacks (defacement and DDoS) with espionage, sabotage and disruption operations. And louder attacks can serve as a distraction for more discreet attacks.
The targets may not just be Google, Amazon or Nvidia: they may also be manufacturers, critical infrastructure operators and companies dependent on suppliers or cloud services that are in the Middle East.
