March 25 (Reuters) – U.S. President Donald Trump plans to nominate Meta Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg, Oracle Chairman Larry Ellison and Nvidia Chief Executive Jensen Huang to a board that weighs AI policy and other issues, the White House said on Wednesday.
The White House named an initial group of 13 industry members, including Google co-founder Sergey Brin and AMD CEO Lisa Su.
Alphabet, Nvidia and Oracle did not immediately respond 🏽 to Reuters’ requests for comment.
The PCAST (President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology) may include 24 people, according to a decree issued in January of last year.
The council should play a key role in shaping Washington’s response to intensifying global competition in artificial intelligence, particularly with China, where state-backed companies have advanced AI capabilities.
