After an argument in a car, Dayton Webberamputated of arms and legs, allegedly shot dead another man and abandoned his body in a backyard.

The case, initially reported by , is shocking Maryland, in the USA, after the arrest of the professional cornhole player and well-known figure on the circuit of this popular sport on that continent.

According to authorities in La Plata, Charles County, police were initially alerted by two passengers who were in the back seat of the vehicle driven by the 27-year-old athlete.

According to the reports of these witnesses, all the occupants of the car knew each other. The two passengers told authorities they refused to help the athlete after he allegedly shot the victim, Bradrick Michael Wells, also 27, who was in the front passenger seat.

More than two hours after that first alert, the police received a new call reporting the presence of a corpse left in a backyard. Upon arriving at the scene, authorities found the body of Wells, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Webber was located and arrested at 10:25 pm on Sunday at a hospital located about 240 kilometers away from where the body was found. He was waiting to receive treatment for a health problem. After being discharged from the hospital, he was formally arrested and initially accused of being a fugitive from justice. He is now awaiting transfer to Charles County, where he must answer for first and second degree murder, assault and illegal possession of a firearm.

Dayton Webber lost all four limbs when he was just 10 months old, following a serious bacterial infection. He even received extreme unction, but survived, after amputations and a long hospitalization.

In recent years, he has become a prominent figure in the cornholemodality in which players throw bags into a hole on an inclined board.
