Trump insists Iran is negotiating, Tehran denies

Tehran has already rejected the US 15-point ceasefire plan and presented counter-demands to end hostilities, but even so, Donald Trump insists that Iran is negotiating.

For Iran, when Donald Trump talks about negotiations he is admitting defeat. Because, Iranian authorities argue, the American president began by demanding Iran’s unconditional surrender.

Now, Trump ensures that those he calls “Iranian negotiators”, who he says are “different” and “strange”, are begging for an agreement to be reached.

In addition to threatening Iran again, Trump writes, on the social network he created, that “NATO has done nothing to help” the United States with regard to Iran.

China sees “a light of hope” in the negotiations that Trump talks about and calls for “calm” from Middle Eastern countries. The American president announced a visit to China for May.
