Cruzeiro do Sul was the stage, this Thursday (26), for one of the most robust actions to support the female public in the Juruá region. THE D-Day “Their Rights”held at the headquarters of the Women’s Service Reference Center in Juruá (Cramju), concentrated in a single morning a network of free services that ranged from basic health to complex legal guidance, all with the central objective of ensuring that Acre women feel protected and supported by the State.
The initiative, the result of a partnership between Cruzeiro do Sul City Hall and institutions such as the Brazilian Army and the Public Ministry, sought not only to offer exams and consultations, but to serve as a breaking point for cycles of violence. With the support of Lilac Busthe event provided psychological and social support, as well as lectures on the Maria da Penha Law and financial autonomy.

Support and Prevention Network
Sergeant Maria Pinheiro, representative of the Maria da Penha Patrol, highlighted that the work goes beyond monitoring protective measures; it’s about prevention. The integration between the police and the Women’s Secretariat allows information to arrive before the attack, through reflective groups and conversation circles that strengthen awareness of rights.

Ane Monteiro, coordinator of Cramju, and Lúcia do Vale, municipal manager of women’s policies, were unanimous in stating that the event is a celebration of life and self-esteem. In addition to rapid tests and vaccination, the self-care and beauty component was included so that each participant could recognize themselves as the protagonist of their story.
The Impact at Ponta: Stories from Those Who Received Care
The feeling of gratitude echoed among the participants. Aldenora Brígida, 62 years old, obtained medical care without bureaucracy and highlighted that the Center is essential for women to know that they are not alone. Gerbiana Damião highlighted the educational nature of the lectures, pointing out that women are often in an abusive relationship without realizing it, and events like this help to identify signs of danger externally.

Vice-mayor Delcimar Leite reiterated that “Direito Delas” is part of an ongoing commitment by the Gladson Cameli and Zequinha Lima administration, with plans to expand these service caravans to the villages and rural areas of Cruzeiro do Sul. By combining physical, mental health and legal security, the public authorities reaffirm that the dignity of women is an absolute priority in the social development of Acre.
