War ends in the next two weeks and without troops in Iran, says Marco Rubio

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio

The head of US diplomacy indicated that Tehran sent messages about offering negotiations to end the conflict. He says that the US will destroy everything “without ground troops”, shortly after sending another thousand soldiers to the region.

The US Secretary of State said this Friday that he hopes for an end to the conflict with Iran “in the next two weeks” and who believes in achieving war objectives without ground operations in the Islamic Republic.

“When we are done with them in the next two weeks, they will be weaker than they have been in recent history,” Marco Rubio told reporters after a G7 meeting near Paris.

Quoted by, Marco Rubio also stated that the US can achieve its objectives in the war against Iran “no ground troops”while hundreds of additional military personnel are deployed to the region.

As for the reason for the recent sending of more military personnel to the Middle East, he said that President Donald Trump “has to be prepared for multiple contingencies”, without however detailing what these contingencies would be.

The Secretary of State indicated that Tehran sent messages about offering negotiations to end the conflict started almost a month ago by the United States and Israel, but has not yet responded to the proposal for a peace plan.

In his statements, Marco Rubio also called for international involvement to ensure that navigation in the Strait of Hormuz “is safe” and prevent Iran from establishing a “toll system” in this strategic passage for the transport of oil goods, even after the end of the war.

“Immediately after the end of this war and the completion of our objectives, one of the immediate challenges we will face is an Iran that may decide to implement a toll system in the Strait of Hormuz. This is not only illegal, it is unacceptable, it is dangerous for the world, and it is important that the world has a plan to deal with this,” Rubio said.
