The president (PT) congratulated this Saturday (28) on his 82nd birthday and referred to the corporation as a fundamental piece in the fight against criminal factions, at a time when the debate about confronting these organizations is growing as the elections approach.
“Recognized by Brazilians for its intelligence work, the PF is an essential part of the Brazilian Government’s commitment to combating criminal factions and creating a safer country for everyone. Therefore, we continue to strengthen and expand its actions. Congratulations to the civil servants for their dedication”, he wrote on X (formerly Twitter)
Last Tuesday (24), the president sanctioned the so-called Antifaction PL, which changed definitions surrounding crimes committed by criminal organizations and toughened penalties for groups.
The result of disagreements between the Chamber, Senate and federal government, the law belonged to the president.
As shown, Donald Trump’s government would be studying the possibility of classifying criminal factions as CV (Comando Vermelho) and PCC (Primeiro Comando da Capital), which would impact legislation and punishment relating to these groups.
The topic of fighting crime has already been discussed directly between Lula and Trump and has been reiterated in the Brazilian president’s public speeches.
