Renault – “Créateur d’automobiles” has been the French company’s advertising slogan for decades. But now the classic car manufacturer, founded in 1898, is to develop into a broader mobility group – including a military division. The company, based in Boulogne-Billancourt, southwest of Paris, is following President Emmanuel Macron’s call last year for French companies to open up to a “war economy”.
