HELSINKI, April 1 (Reuters) – Finnish President Alexander Stubb told United States President Donald Trump by telephone on Wednesday that ‘a more European NATO’ is taking shape and that Europe is ‘taking responsibility’, the Finn’s cabinet said in a statement released by email.
Trump revealed to Reuters this Wednesday his intention to declare, in a speech to the nation, later, that he is considering withdrawing the US from the NATO military alliance.
“Constructive discussion and exchange of ideas” about NATO, Ukraine and Iran. The problems exist to be resolved, pragmatically,” Stubb wrote in a social media post.

A more European NATO should be on the agenda for the military alliance’s annual summit in Ankara, on July 7th and 8th, Stubb’s office said.
