R$600 million: Montenegro announces and explains support for companies

The Prime Minister announced this Thursday the launch of a line of support of 600 million euros intended to finance the companies whose costs of energy represent more than 20% of your costs of production.

Luís Montenegro announced that the line will be called “Portugal Energy Resilience” and will be operated by Portuguese Development Bankin a ceremony marking his inauguration as prime minister.

“It is intended to finance, through credit, the cash and working capital needs of companies most affected by the rise in energy costs. It is another measure in response to the current situation. It is intended for companies in which energy costs represent more than 20% of their production costs”, he explained, at the Palácio de São Bento.

According to the Prime Minister, “the State will provide public guarantee covering 70% for large companies and 80% for small and medium-sized companies”.

“It will strengthen the capacity of companies to respond to international instability and to protect our competitiveness, our employment and the resilience of our national productive fabric”, he said.

When looking at his two years as prime minister, and precisely at the country’s economy, Luís Montenegro concluded: “The public finances are balancedare stable, the taxes are decreasing andAt the same time, we are paying solidarity benefits to those who have lower income and we are updating careers and fulfilling what we signed in an agreement with the key sector of public service provision that provides quality of life for citizens and the community”.
