Ships cross Strait of Hormuz after Iran blockade

The country also authorized the transit of container vessels from France and oil tankers from Oman through the strait

Five vessels have escaped from the Strait of Hormuz since March 29, according to the agency.

Vessels passing through the canal include 1 natural gas tanker from Japan, 3 oil tankers operated by Oman and 1 French-owned container ship.

The French president (Renaissance, center) declared on March 29 that only diplomatic efforts unrelated to military operations could pass through the canal.

The Iranian Foreign Minister said on March 26 that only China, Russia, India, Iraq and Pakistan were authorized to use the strait.

The restriction was on February 28, 2026 because of airstrikes. The country only authorized the transit of ships without ties to the United States and Israel.
