Croatia’s ski association rocked by corruption scandal


Zagreb – A scandal involving embezzled funds at the Croatian Ski Association is currently making waves in Croatia. The former ski racer and ex-ski association head Vedran Pavlek is said to have defrauded the association (HSS) of at least 30 million euros in recent years. While the hearing on the pre-trial detention order began at the court in Zagreb, Pavlek was arrested in Istanbul, according to Croatian media. He is presumed innocent.
