Yemen’s Houthis said they had struck targets in Eilat, southern Israel, with cruise missiles and drones, according to a statement released by their military spokesman, Yahya Saree, via Telegram. According to him, the offensive was part of a coordinated operation with the Iranian Armed Forces and Hezbollah, from Lebanon. The Armed Forces and Hezbollah did not comment.
Saree declared that “vital and military targets” were attacked in the city, located in the extreme south of Israel, close to the Red Sea. There was no immediate confirmation from Israel about the damage or possible victims resulting from the action.
The declaration comes amid escalating regional tensions. The Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, also declared this Monday (6) that “terrorism and crime cannot shake” the Iranian armed forces, in reference to attacks by the US and Israel.

In a message released after the death of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) general Majid Khademi, Khamenei attributed the murder to what he called an “American-Zionist enemy” and said that, despite actions of this type, “the ranks of fighters and defenders of truth in Islamic Iran remain solid and structured.”
In the diplomatic field, the Iranian state agency IRNA reported earlier that Tehran rejected the latest ceasefire proposal and advocates a permanent end to the war. The response was transmitted to the United States through Pakistan, which acted as mediator.
Tension increased after US President Donald Trump set a deadline of this Tuesday (7) for Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, under threat of attacks on energy infrastructure. At the same time, Israel claimed to have hit petrochemical facilities in the South Pars field.
