To the video podcast Off Record with musician Teri Čikoš on the web she accepted the invitation with a keen PR and marketing managerwhich specializes in music, events and culture. Andrea Čurná at the beginning, she remembered her beginnings with us. She had a significant contact with art when she was only 12-13 years old.
She always enjoyed music and dancing, she was in dance groups, she danced ballroom dances and that didn’t change for many years. She was also in the dance group during her studies at university. When she went to mass media communication, she originally wanted to host a TV news. That was the first intention with which she went to university. She had no idea that she would eventually become a successful PR manager.
In the podcast we talked about how she gradually got to work with important projects and performers such as Elán and Celeste Buckingham, about her work at large events, such as the Czech-Slovak Ball and Art Film Fest, and about the specifics of PR for music projects vs. festivals or social events. Andrea Čurná told us how the work with the media is changing and how crisis situations are solved during important campaigns.
We also touched on the personal aspect, including her collaborations and debates with her husband Juraj Čurnýwho is himself an expert in the music world. We talked about what makes a project successful in the media, what mistakes performers and brands often make, and what is the biggest challenge for a PR manager. Finally, Andrea shared her views on the future of PR in music and events and how communication is gradually shifting towards digital media and social networks.
