The Iber Cup final in the under-15 category ended with a controversial episode involving young Sporting players. The Leo team was defeated 1-0 against Blackburn Rovers, in a meeting marked by balance, but the outcome ended up triggering moments of great tension.
Shortly after the final whistle, several Sporting athletes went to the referee to challenge decisions made during the match. The protest quickly escalated and there ended up being physical contact, with some players pushing the match referee.
Faced with the situation, members of the technical committee immediately intervened, seeking to calm tempers and distance the young people from the referee, preventing the incident from taking on greater proportions.
Blackburn Rovers U15s are IBERCup Champions after a 1-0 win over Sporting Lisbon in the final.
